Eames DCM Plywood Dining Chairs 1st Edition Evans Production Set of 4

Sorry, currently out of stock

What is it?

The Eames DCM chair or “Dining Chair Metal” was designed in 1946, the famous design couple had been experimenting with molding plywood for a while including helping the U.S. Navy creating splints and stretches for World War II. The Dining Chair versions of the plywood series are ergonomically supreme and angled to support the body shape, the perfect place to dine in style! The chair has been in continuous production since its conception and sports a selection of different plywood finishes, the frame too can be found polished or powder coated.

What's special about this one?

A beautiful vintage set of very early production chairs manufactured by Evans. Sadly the label is no longer present but the chairs can be identified by the circular ends of the metal back rest frame and the 'domes of silence' feet. The chairs are in good vintage condition, that is to say they do show show signs of use and have varying patina across the set of 4, however there is no major damage such as cracks, chips or other issues.
