Sea Things Serving Trays Manufactured by Waverly - Turquoise & Gold- Rectangle
What is it?
The Eames Sea Things Trays were part of a set of serving trays, released in 1954 and manufactured by Waverly Products, featuring the Sea Things pattern, which was originally designed for use on textiles and fabrics by Ray Eames.
The Eames sea things trays were released three shapes, circular, square and rectangular. They were available in two color combos of black & white and then turquoise with gold patterns. Waverly used the same tray design to print many designs which can be found alongside other mid century items and are also collecters items. Production of the Eames Sea Things Trays was for just one year and the trays have a been favorite collectors item for Eames enthusiasts all around the world. Modern reproductions have been manufactured by Vitra but the original Waverly produced ones remain much more uncommon and retain their value more than the modern versions.
