Eames DTM Table 1st Edition Manufactured by Evans Plywood - Oak
What is it?
Originally released in 1947, the Eames DTM table was one of the earliest Eames furniture designs. DTM simply stands for Dining Table Metal. Available in either square or rectangular configuration with natural veneer or a plastic coated top. The tables followed other popular plywood designs such as DCM chair (which it matches beautifully) and the CTW a coffee table of a similar design. Kerkmann Manufacturing originally made the tables before going out of business and selling the design to Herman Miller who continued to make the DTM until 1964 when it was sadly discontinued.
What's special about this one?
Well other than it being a quite rare piece this Eames 'DTM' table is in fantastic condition for its age finished in an Oak veneer it has survived the test of time admirably. Seating up to four the table has the original boot glides making it appear to be a later (Herman Miller built) example and a black underside, it's the perfect addition to a mid century Eames collection!
We also have some matching vintage DCM chairs available too!
